The Studio CO2’s talent incubator created by the Côte Ouest group launched, in the Discop Abidjan, the first “Pitching Competition” dedicated to digital content creators from Francophone Africa.
This totally new competition, which aims essentially at the creators of webcasts and web-series has as its goal to reveal the best talents and to support them in producing their content. To do this, the Studio CO2 joins forces with DIM SUM Entertainment, a key player in the digital media landscape.
The competition will take place in two parts.
The first step is to pre-select the 15 best projects of digital content by a panel of experts in audiovisual production for the web. To do this, content creators must submit from April 25 to May 18, 2016 at midnight, their application by completing the registration form on the website www.studioco2.tv.
The second stage, in turn, will be the pitch competition during which the 15 nominated participants will defend their project to a jury composed of Marina Niava (Côte Ouest), Christian Gomis (Studio CO2), Thomas Plessis (Dim-Sum Entertainment) and Marie-Cécile Teissèdre (Dailymotion).
Long before the final, the 15 finalists will receive a training workshop on screenwriting. This final will be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on June 1 during the Discop Abidjan.
According to Mr. Bernard Azria, the CEO of the Côte Ouest Audiovisuel group, “Africa is more than ever a continent rich in creativity. CO2 Studio offers talented young Africans who wish to create their digital content, expertise and tools to produce and monetize their content.”
The sum of 1 million CFA francs will be offered to the winner of the competition, while the 2nd and 3rd best candidates gain, respectively, the sums of 500,000 CFA francs and 250 000 CFA francs.
