Two weeks before the opening, 735 professionals (including a hundred English-speaking countries) were enrolled in DISCOP Abidjan and organisers hoped to surpass the thousand participants mark (against 618 the previous year). After a successful first edition in 2015, Discop-Abidjan thus stands out as the major event for purchases and sales of programmes in Francophone Africa.
Among the many innovations of this second edition, we note:
– The summit of the TV series of conferences held on 31 May under the chairmanship of the Minister of Communication of Côte d’Ivoire, Ms. Bamba Affoussiata-Lamine
– The pitch competition (documentaries, fiction and animation)
– The programme proposed by the OIF participating in the round table “cinema-television relationship” and organises both a meeting about African aid funds to the production, DISCOP and a new edition of the Feast series, at the French Institute of Côte d’Ivoire.
