According to the famous Ghanaian film actor, John Dumelo, ” the diversity of African culture must enrich the film industry in Africa ”. He made these remarks during a press conference he hosted in the afternoon of Friday 29 April, on his arrival in Abidjan for a charity and an open casting for Ivorian actors for his next film.
During the press conference in the presence of cultural journalists, actor John Dumelo commented on several issues mainly related to the promotion of African cinema whose leaders he says are Nigeria, Ghana and Cote d ‘Ivoire.
From the words of the speaker, many people on the world stage are more and more appreciating African films, which constitute a real market based on the fact that Africa has nearly 50 countries, sources of countless companies or small film production unit.
“I think that African cinema has come to dominate the rest of the world and one has to reckon with African films which are much sought after,” said the Ghanaian movie actor, John Dumelo.
He also said African leaders would reap better profits by investing in the provision of funding for film projects that absorb enough dividends, to this is added the tax rebates to encourage the creation of film companies. He also encouraged the proliferation of cinemas in Africa.
