Under the title “The Magic of African Cinema” the Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) will hold a week of film screenings at the Hanager Arts Centre and the Creativity Centre, both located in the Cairo Opera House grounds, from 1-5 June.
The programme comprises selections from films screened at LAFF since it was founded in 2012.[…]
Among the films to be screened are Horizon Beautiful (2013) by Stefan Jager, October One (2014) by Kunle Afolayan, Nairobi Half Life (2012) by David “Tosh” Gitonga, Hawas (“Senses”) (2010) by Mohamed Ramadan, and Garagouz (“The Puppeteer”) (2010) by Abdenour Zahzah.
The film week is taking place in parallel with the Cairo International Forum for African Cultures, which is currently being held at the Supreme Council of Culture
