On saturday the 12th of September, the company “Em Communication” launched a preparation ceremony for the upcoming event “The Sotigui Awards Night”, billed to take place between the 6th – 7th of May 2016, and of which the topic is : “Professionalise the Profession of Acting in Africa”.
Working on this project for more than two years, Kévin Moné, the promoter said “The objective of the promoters is to award actors, who are often the poor cousins of African Cinema.” He added that “It will be another occasion to strengthen the position of Ouagadougou as a pioneer of African Cinema by recognizing and awarding its actors.”
The minister’s representative said “This event is a moral relief for Africa and its actors and actresses in the Diaspora, in a field where precarity has huge consequences on the film and audiovisual sector.’
