The call for applications for the Ouaga Film Lab 2016, development and film co-production laboratory, is open until 1 July 2016.
Platform for meetings between experts and young film talents in Africa, Ouaga Film Lab will hold its first edition of the 19 to 24 September, 2016.
10 promising project teams for feature films (directors and producers) will be invited to a residence in Ouagadougou. They will work with mentors who will also accompany the upstream and downstream of the lab.
At the end of the laboratory, 5 prizes will be awarded to the best projects, including French Institut / La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde prize offering a scholarship for an international writing residency.
LABORATORY DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION
Ouaga Film Lab aims to help directors and producers develop their projects, to be trained in film production techniques, learn the techniques of presentation of projects (pitch) and contact potential partners in order to facilitate the financing their projects.
Ouaga Film Lab promotes filmmaking talent networking of Africa among themselves and with professional networks around the world. This is a dialogue on the difficulties inherent in film production both locally and internationally. The Ouaga Film Lab aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the directors and producers of West African countries to the various major international laboratories and facilitate their access to local financing funds and international co-productions.
The French Institute is a partner of Ouaga Film Lab.
CALL FOR PROJECTS
The call for proposals is open to West African film and audiovisual professionals. The files can be written in French, Portuguese or English.
