2015 Afrikabok Festival
Walk through the Sine in the Sérère and Saloum region

For the second edition, the Afrikabok Festival, first festival dedicated to animation in Senegal, will stand its screen in the SINE and the SALOUM, East and Centre of Senegal.
With numerous stops, the cinematograph caravan will go through remote towns and villages in the are Fatick, Foundiougne and Kaolack. The films will bring the population an unusual but expected enjoyment and activities, too rare in these areas.
Besides, some of the films are meant to raise awareness around the risks of malaria and diabete, that continue to kill in Senegal. The organizers who are comitted to fight Malaria, will also offer impregnated mosquito net to the population and show animation as another means for disseminating information about education and good health towards remote and deprived population.
A two-day workshop trained by Moussa Thiam, director and 3D specialist will take place in Kaolack after the closing reception of the festival. Open to upcoming directors, it should be able to young professionals to put together their works and acquire new skills in animation. The French animation director Frederic Joyeux will be the guest of this 2015 workshop.
