The 5th edition of Social Film Festival of Tangier “Tanjazoom”, an event dedicated to young amateur talents of cinema, will take place from May 27 to 29 under the theme “Social cinema for all”.
This cultural event, organised by members of youth associations Tanjazoom network, in partnership with the “Casal des Infants” Association and Bir Chifa neighbourhood associations, is an annual, educational and cultural events for young people in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region in general and the city of Detroit in particular and associations to showcase their talents and creations in film, especially in terms of achievement, writing and interpretation. According to organisers, audiovisual productions in competition are documentaries and short films made by young amateurs from Tangier and elsewhere on a social theme related to “citizenship” and “creative national values.”
The Tanjazoom offers a varied programme that enriches each year through meetings and workshops around components of filmmaking, which will be led by experts in the 7th art and the audiovisual, besides exchanges aroused by the participating associations and their partners around the training, the creativity and the sensitization of the young people to various themes of the society..
The festival is a special time for meetings and discussions between various civil society actors, in addition to being an opportunity to address social issues and culture through the audiovisual media.
The festival’s opening ceremony will be held at the Press House, while other artistic activities will be hosted by the “Roxy” movie Tangier.
