The Spring Festival 2016 will take place April 28, running until May 21 and will honor the Iraqi cinema through the screening of three films “Lettre au roi” by Hichem Zaman, “Sous les sables de Babylone” by Mohamed Darraji and “La patrie IRAk, l’année zéro”, a five-hour documentary by Abbes Fadhel.
The event, held also in Egypt and Lebanon, will be attended by over a hundred artists who will provide 21 music, theater and dance and film screenings …
This edition, hosted for the first timeby Tunisia, will be attended by 14 countries: Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Mali, India, United states of America, Canada, Portugal, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey and China.
The El Hamra and Rio spaces in Tunis will host the different shows of this festival. A tribute will also be paid to the late Ezzedine Gannoun. The festival program will include three sections, in addition to the official program:
Red zone, “Abbara” and “Tazamon”. The event will start tomorrow in the room “Rio” by a musical trio of Jasser Haj Youssef and Syrian Dima Ourchou and Kinan Adhama.
The rest of the concerts (9) will be given in the form of joint concerts. Chinese dance performances will be provided by the Beijing Dance troupe, besides a show of Fatma Ali Chahrour from Lebanon and another entitled “Bound” by the “Samar King” cast of Palestine.
A Tunisian dance show will also be provided by the Tunisian troupe “danseurs citoyens”. Regarding the plays, the public will have a date with 3 plays, “al Marhala 32” by Moez Mrabet to be held at the Bach Hamba house in Medina on May 14, a play by Soliman Bassam of Kuwait and an Indian theater play.
